Pavel Kohout reflected on Argentina’s historical economic highs and lows, expressing optimism about the country’s potential to reclaim its former glory. However, Jan Mládek pointed out structural challenges such as Argentina’s reliance on agricultural exports and its debt to international institutions like the IMF, which limit policy independence. H.E. Claudio Rozenzwaig H stressed the strong public and political backing for President Milei's reforms.

2. Institutional Reform and Social Impact: Dušan Tříska highlighted the complexities of institutional change, drawing comparisons with Central and Eastern Europe’s post-communist transitions. He stressed the importance of informal social rules in shaping reforms. Claudio Rozenzweig underscored Argentina’s ambition to develop a knowledge-based economy and industrial sector while maintaining public support for Milei’s agenda.

3. Comparative Perspectives: Discussions also examined parallels between Argentina’s reforms and Eastern European transitions in the 1990s. Panelists debated whether Milei’s policies could serve as inspiration for other nations facing economic stagnation or political challenges, including the Czech Republic and even figures like Donald Trump or Elon Musk in the U.S.

The debate attracted a mix of academics, diplomats, and professionals who actively participated in discussions. Questions from the audience enriched the conversation, reflecting interest in how Argentina’s experience could inform global policy debates. The event concluded with an optimistic outlook on Argentina’s prospects.
